White wines

Finding a well rounded yet fresh white wine to drink in summer is not always easy. I found Prova Regia 2010, a Portuguese one in O’Donovan’s off licence for €11.50. Easy drinking, it’s quite fresh when first poured, but I think it tastes even better when left open for an hour, or even decanted. It has tropical fruit flavours and is nicely dry. Arinto is the grape type, typical of the Lisbon region. I like it with salads, fish dishes, goats cheese. It’s the top selling Portuguese wine in Ireland. Imported by Grace Campbell Wines.
