Jacques – bigger and better

home

I had just a flat white coffee and a delicious raspberry oatmeal biscuit there the other day, but it was enough for me to know it’s a place I will get back to soon. Jacque and Eithne Barry have expanded their restaurant on to Oliver Plunkett Street, opposite l’Occitane, where they do lunch, tapas, supper, with coffees and snacks from early morning. It’s a courageous move in a recession, but they don’t seem at all nervous, especially as the place has been jammed for lunch since opening less than two weeks ago. Jacques has always been one of my favourites in Cork for good wine as well as supper, so to be able to pop in for something light is welcome news for Cork.
