Wine of the Week: Château Montrose

I seem to haveChateau Montrose 2004 been indulged a lot this month with a generous gift of the 2004 Château Montrose from JL Charmolue in St Estephe a real treat. From a difficult vintage it showed no signs of distress. Medium bodied, all its edges had smoothened out perfectly with a slightly earthy tone underneath dark cherry, echoed by its colour. Just a little tobacco comes from its dominant grape – Cabernet Sauvignon, along with typical Merlot softness, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Delicious!

Shop around on line –
prices vary quite a bit.
