Wine of the Week: Cote du Py

We broke outMorgon Cote du Py 2008 our magnum of the Cote du Py 2008 Morgon Jean Foillard last week. I needed a light red to break from the white Burgundy style we finished with scallops and plaice and it was ideal to finish off the fish. With more rich fruit than often found in Beaujolais and more complex than usual for the
Gamay grape, the meatiness had smoothened out and the result was an elegant, soft and light, but still rich wine.

Find it for €69 from le Caveau, Kilkenny: http://lecaveau.ie/shop/jean-foillard-villie-morgon-magnum/

A bottle of the 2012 retails at €34.75
